Robert “Bob” Boudreau, 83, passed away peacefully at Fitchburg Healthcare on Friday, March 6, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Bob was born on April 8, 1942, to Florence (Gagné) and Emery Boudreau. He spent most of his life in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, where he attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1961. Following high school, Bob proudly served in the United States Navy for four years, from 1962 to 1966, traveling the world and serving his country with pride. During his service, he had the honor of meeting President John F. Kennedy for his part in a Special Navy Test, where he spent two weeks in a Fallout Shelter with other Sailors.

Throughout his life, Bob worked in many roles, most often as an electrician working on heavy machinery. He later operated his own business for several years, American Scraping and Machine Tool Rebuilding, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Bob was also a proud and longtime member of the St. Joseph’s Club, where he served many roles, including being recognized as a lifetime member, and spent many years as Chairman of the Board. He could often be found there lending a helping hand to fellow members or simply enjoying a beer with friends and family.

On June 25, 2016, Bob married the love of his life, Dolores Diana Boudreau, at the age 74. The two shared nine happy years together before her passing. Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dolores Diana Boudreau; his parents, Florence (Gagné) and Emery Boudreau; and his brother, William Boudreau.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help others, his sarcastic wit, and the friendships and family he cherished throughout his life.

He is survived by his sister, Carol (Boudreau) Fournier and her husband Roger of Fitchburg, his sister-in-law, Claire Boudreau of Fitchburg, and his 5 “kids”, niece Dawn (Fournier) Carvalho and Derek of Chelmsford; nephew Jeffrey Boudreau and Karla of Westminster; niece Shelly Fournier and her life partner, Marilyn Donovan; niece Lynn (Boudreau) Thomas of Fitchburg; niece Julianne (Boudreau) Donald and Ken of Rochester, NH. He also leaves behind several cousins and great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
