Paula Jan Gregory

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, Paula Jan Counts Gregory, passed at the age of 81.
Paula was born January 27, 1941, in Nealy Ridge, Virginia to the late Arthur and Violet Rasnick Counts.
She graduated from Haysi High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She is the loving mother of Jay P. Ross, Valerie Ross Wright, and Joseph Garrett Ross - all born and raised in Monroe, NC. Paula owned and operated the Consignment Shop on Main Street, Monroe, for over 30 years. She and her loving husband, Bobby Gregory, are members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Union County.
Paula loved hiking, camping, nature and simple times with her husband, family and friends. She was known in the community for her gentle, sweet spirit, her generous heart, and her church involvement. Her radiant smile would light up the room whenever her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were close by her side. Paula's greatest joy - by far - was her family.
Mrs. Paula Gregory was preceded in death by her twin daughters who passed at birth, her mother and father, her siblings - Lorraine Blevins, Charlotte Counts, Durwood Counts, Wayne Counts and Lyman Counts.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Gregory; her children - Jay Ross, Valerie Wright and J. Garrett Ross; her grandchildren - Stephanie Abramovich, Brianna Yeatts, J. Preston Ross II, Garrett J. Ross and Peyton Ross; her great-grandchildren - Lucas Abramovich, Piper Abramovich and J. Preston Ross III; and her sister - Rita Vance. Her extended family of surviving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren include: Donna Shannon, Wendy Webb, Kristen Fino, Sarah Shannon, Anna Shannon, and Zeke Webb - and the late, Carol Gregory.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held on 4:00 PM, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue in Monroe, NC, 28112.
