Paula Margarita “Margo” Guzman, a vibrant, caring, and kind spirit, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 63 in New Haven, Connecticut. Born on November 27, 1961, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Paula was the youngest of six children to Arcadio Antonio Guzman and Ana Tila Rodriguez. After completing her education at Colegio San Vicente de Paul, she came to the United States, where she poured her energy into building a life filled with hard work, community, and love. She established several businesses and gained a reputation for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication throughout the cities of Waterbury and New Haven. Paula also worked as a bus driver for First Student Bus Transportation in New Haven, where her warm presence touched the lives of many families. Deeply devoted to her heritage and faith, Paula was an active member of PRM, Partido Revolucionario Moderno, where she served as Vice President for the party’s Connecticut chapter, and a dedicated member of Manantial de Vida church in Waterbury. She was a proud pillar of the Dominican community in Waterbury, where she devoted countless hours to advocacy and service. Her commitment was recognized with a Certificate of Recognition from the Connecticut Secretary of the State for her tireless dedication to the Dominican community.

Above all, Paula treasured her family. She is survived by her husband, Sabino Montano, beloved children: Samira, Jahaira, and Anderson; her cherished grandchildren, Augusto, Gabriel, Anaya, Nathalia, Analia, Amir, Mariana, and Amiris; her loving mother, Ana Rodriguez; and her siblings, Cristina, Norma, Jose Antonio, Stephanie, Dulce, and Abel. She is also remembered with love by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Paula was predeceased by her father, Arcadio Antonio Guzman; her grandparents, Paula Abreu Guzman and Pedro Guzman, Juana Sanchez and Nestor Nuñez Mercedes; and her brother, Caonabo Guzman.

Paula will be remembered as a woman of extraordinary generosity—always willing to give, even when it meant she went without. She cared deeply for everyone she met, and her unwavering hope for a brighter future inspired those around her. Her family, friends, and the many communities she served will feel her absence profoundly, but her legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
