With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paula Johanna Marshall, age 93, who departed this life on April 15, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on August 12, 1931, in the vibrant city of Milwaukee, Paula graced the world with her warmth, kindness, and an unwavering love for family and nature.
Paula dedicated over thirty-five years of her life to the retail industry, working diligently at Sears, where she formed lasting friendships and nurtured a passion for connecting with others. Beyond her professional life, her heart was large enough to encompass all she loved-her daughter, Sherry (Jim) Jackson, treasured moments spent with her grandson, Justin (Hannah) Gollwitzer, and great-grandchildren, J.J., Luke, and Noa. Paula is also survived by other family and friends which she cherished deeply.
Paula had an enduring commitment to animals, which led her to volunteer at the Milwaukee County Zoo for over twenty years. As a proud Zoo Pride Volunteer, she celebrated the wonders of the animal kingdom, sharing that joy with those around her.
Paula loved to travel, some of her favorite adventures included traveling to Alaska, Africa and visiting family in The Netherlands. When at home Paula would be found with a book in hand and either a golf tournament or Murder, She Wrote on the television.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, John and Johanna Lip; her sister, Joan Boinski; and her favorite dog, Payton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula's name can be made to Zoological Society of Milwaukee.
Memorial Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 4 PM -7 PM. Memorial Service to follow after.
