Paula Mower Obituary

Paula Blanch Mower

April 19, 1936 ~ December 9, 2025

Paula Blanch Mower, 89, passed away on December 9, 2025 in Highland, Utah. Paula was born on April 19, 1936 in Salt Lake City to George and Gwendolyn Blanch. Paula married William Mower on June 16, 1954 in Salt Lake City, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 10, 1979.

Paula's life was centered around her children and grandchildren. They were her greatest joy. She nurtured her children with a gentle, steady love that made them feel safe, understood, and deeply cherished. She created a home filled with love and security, and spent most of her life enjoying her kids and grandkids.

With her children all close to the same age, she spent several years in the PTA and even served a stint as the PTA president. She enjoyed her grandchildren, finding ways to spend time and nurture them. Annual family reunions were the highlight of each year. When not attending to children, she found joy in decorating cakes, reading, and gardening.

After raising her family, she worked with her brother Marsden in his doctor's office for several years.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A particular highlight was serving a full-time mission with her eternal companion in the San Bernardino mission where her brother (Marsden) was the mission president.

After retirement, Paula and Bill enjoyed spending time together and were particularly fond of ocean cruises.

She was a natural born caregiver. She spent several years caring for her mother in her own home. Later when her husband was in a care center, she was relentless in spending every possible moment with him, caring for his every need.

She had a great sense of humor that she frequently used to lighten difficult situations.

She possessed a generous spirit and grateful heart, and knew the value of simple words like Thank You.

Survived by brother G. Marsden Blanch, six children Jeanne Bradford (Keith), William Mower III (Suzanne), Matt Mower (Karen), Scott Mower (Kerry), Alecia Taylor (Kevin), Janette Serdar (Gary), 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her spouse Bill Mower, her parents George and Gwendolyn Blanch, one brother Ewan Blanch, and three sisters Beverly Weatherford, Alice O'Driscoll, and Shauna Sovereen.

There will be a viewing Sunday, December 14 from 6-8 pm at the Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East in Draper. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15 at 11:00 am at the Hidden Valley Stake Center, 1450 E. Raddon Drive in Sandy, with a viewing one hour prior to the services at the church.
