Paula K. Robinson
January 2, 1943 – December 23, 2024
Paula Kay Robinson, better known as "Purple" passed away peacefully on December
23, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on January 2, 1943, in Piqua, Ohio, Paula lived a life
full of love, laughter, and family.
Paula's journey through life took her from Michigan to Arizona and ultimately to
California. In Fullerton, she met the love of her life, Lewis Edward Robinson (Ed). The
couple moved to Fresno in 1970, where they built a life centered on family and
community. Paula and Ed shared 49 wonderful years together before his passing in 2008.
Paula had a deep love for all things Disney and created countless magical memories
with her family. She was passionate about cooking, needlepointing, and spending time
with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for her warm and
nurturing nature, Paula often remarked that "each baby was a blessing." Her family
fondly remembers her tradition of preparing a Thanksgiving feast for new mothers and
her loving belief that "Papa (Ed) kept sending her more great-grandbabies from heaven."
An exceptional aunt, Paula was famous for taking her nieces and nephews shopping on
their birthdays. As a devoted grandmother, she hosted sleepovers filled with malted
milkshakes, fort-building adventures, and Mickey Mouse waffles. Her home was a
haven of joy and love for her family.
Paula always said she "wanted to be a mom," and she fulfilled that dream with
excellence. Her candidness and ability to speak her mind were part of what made her
unique. She was also an avid Elvis Presley fan and cherished the memory of seeing
him perform live in Las Vegas many times.
Known lovingly as 'Purple' by her family and friends, she embraced her favorite color in
everything she did, from her wardrobe to her home, filling the world around her with the
vibrant hue she adored.
Paula is survived by her two brothers and their wives; Bill and Marlene Paulus and
Johnny and Michelle Paulus. A step brother Bobby Paulus and his wife Jackie, and a
step sister, Carolyn and Ken Leffal. She is survived by her three children and spouses,
Robin and Keith Butterfield, Rene and Steve Scurich, and Eddie and Kristi Robinson.
Along with eight grandchildren, Britney, Janaye, Jeremy, Bobby, Bailey, Danelle, Danika
and Rylee. In addition her eighteen great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Her legacy of love and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In honor of Paula, the family would love for all who plan to attend her services to please wear her favorite color...PURPLE!
