Paula Rowan Obituary
Paula was born on March 13, 1961, in Peoria, a daughter of P. James and Charlotte (Morrissey) Scherer. Paula married Michael L. Rowan on May 24, 1986. He preceded her in death in 2009. Her parents and two brothers, David James Scherer and Philip Joseph Scherer, also preceded her in death.
Paula is survived by their two daughters, Melissa Ann Rowan and Emily Marie Rowan, as well as her beloved dogs. Also surviving is her brother, Robert John Scherer, sister, Victoria Ann (Scherer) Bradbury, sister-in-law, Carol Jean (Edwards) Scherer, nephew and nieces, Jason (Jaimie) Scherer, Stephanie Scholl, Elizabeth (Anthony) Brown, Christina (Shawn) Darby, Robert Gay, Erin (Dan) Pyne, Matthew (Nora) Bradbury, Laurel (Caleb) Strejc and (SGM) Emily Green. Paula also had many great-nieces and nephews she adored.
Paula followed in her father's footsteps to be a dedicated Cub's Fan and cheered them on endlessly.
Paula was employed by Peoria Siding and Windows for 40 years, which she just celebrated in November. She was dedicated to her work as a bookkeeper and a valued member of the company. Paula was "A ray of sunshine" while working beside her many beloved colleagues.
Paula will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, co-workers and all who knew her.
Private family services will be held. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
