Paula Nippert Sutherland, age 74 of Louisville, Kentucky was welcomed Home on Monday, July 14, 2025. Paula was a beloved wife, mother, Meme, daughter, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord. She was born December 28, 1950 to the late William Travis and Florence Nippert. With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman!
She was the heart of her family, the soul of every gathering, and the light that guided us all. Her kitchen was a sanctuary of comfort and joy, where no one ever left hungry even if she did. Her legendary corn and rice casserole, no-bake cheesecake, chicken piccata, and famous brownies were more than recipes ... they were expressions of her boundless love.
Her faith was unshakable. Through every season of life, her love for the Lord never wavered. She walked in grace, spoke with kindness, and lived with a light that drew others close. She was the calm in chaos, the joy in sorrow, and the strength in weakness.
She touched countless lives with her compassion, her wisdom, and her generosity. She was the light we all followed the one who made everything okay. And when she was called home, the heavens rejoiced; the doves sang, and the sky shone brightly to welcome her into eternal peace.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, her legacy lives on in every life she touched. Her love, her laughter and her faith will echo through generations. She was more than amazing she was a gift. And now, she is our angel. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure,
Paula was the beloved wife of 54 years to Kenneth; devoted mother of three, Becky Lewis (Chris), Ken Sutherland (Trina), Joseph Sutherland (Meaghan); cherished Meme/Paula, grandma to 14 grandchildren, Larissa Graham (Jaeggar,) Brenna Lewis (Jett), Gideon, Maia, Ivy, Conner, Brooks, Emmalynn, Jamie, Liam, Ellory and Sunny. She was also a proud Great-Meme to three amazing great-grandchildren, Adrian, August and Aspen; and survived by a host of family and friends.
She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. “Thank you for loving her with us. Your prayers, presence, and memories mean the world.”
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.
