Paula Tomasko Obituary

Paula Tomasko
Paula Tomasko passed away peacefully at the age of 78, on July 28, 2025, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. She was born in Joliet, on January 28, 1947, the daughter of Richard J. and Catherine A. (nee Scholtes) Yack.
Paula retired early from AT&T and later concluded a second fulfilling career at Simon Box Manufacturing Company. She was a devoted animal lover, with a special affection for her beloved dogs- Max, Casey, and Wrigley, as well as her step-dog Chestnut. Among her most cherished roles was that of godmother to Branden Ferro, whom she held close to her heart with deep love and admiration.
She is survived by a strong and loving network of friends- some of whom became family, including Maribeth Cooper, Shannon and Elijah Fox, John Tomasko, and Jen Kovachevich, whose lives were enriched by her warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
Paula was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Yack, whose memory she carried with her always.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, Lightways Hospice, or Friends of Sunny Hill.
