Paulena "Faye" Rose, age 82 of Evensville, passed away at her home on Monday, January 20, 2025. She was born on June 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Hobert and Madelyn (Kesterson) Peters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Rose; her daughter, Sharon Carter; her sisters, Margaret Peters and Linda Helton; and her infant brother, Samuel Peters.
Faye lived in Rhea County her whole life, was employed at La-Z-Boy for over 30 years, and was secretary at Watts Bar Church of God for 40 years. Faye loved her family and friends. She was in attendance at every family and church event possible. She also loved to have fun playing bingo, card games, putting together puzzles, and looked forward to Friday night dominos. She loved her times in the Smokies at DreamMore and Dollywood, and she kept Cracker Barrel in business. She was the biggest fan of all things Elvis and proudly supported the Tennessee Volunteers. If she was at home, you could catch her watching General Hospital, game shows, and Hallmark movies. She loved Jesus
with all her heart, and she shared that love with all those that knew her. She was a prayer warrior for her friends and especially her family. She was a member of Watts Bar Church of God.
Faye is survived by her children, Charlotte (Jimmy) Swafford of Dayton, Brenda Gurley of Evensville, Patty (Mark) Milliron of Dayton, Tammy (Bill) Commins of Dayton, Crystal (Tim) Conley of Dayton, Jimmy (Lisa) Rose of Evensville and Chris (Heidi) Rose of Dayton Mountain; her grandchildren, Mike Pritchett, Jill (Kevin) Davis, Jared Swafford, Lance Carter, Jared Gurley, Aria Gurley, Jessica Hall, Will Commins, Brittany (Jake) Cannon, Michaiah (Zack) Gallegos, Greg Rose, Colton Rose, Eric Selby, Tate Rose, Courtney (Eric) Swafford, Alex Milliron, Denise (Cliff) Evans and Brad Massengale; her 26 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nancy (Michael) Garrison of Rockwood.
Funeral services for Faye were held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with Pastors Kelly and Kasey Goins officiating. She was laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens in a family graveside service on Friday.
Memorial gifts in Faye's name may be made to Watts Bar Church of God Building Fund, 1517 State Highway 68 W, Decatur, Tennessee 37322.
