Paulette June (Ellison) Egnor, 77-year-old Oktaha resident, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital Muskogee, surrounded by family. She was born June 29, 1947, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Richard and Nellie (Alexander) Ellison. She graduated from Oktaha High School.
After high school, Paulette attended nursing school in Abilene, Texas where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for many years for Muskogee Regional Hospital and, later, worked for Muskogee Immediate Care until her retirement in 2009.
Paulette loved being a nurse. She had a true passion to care for people and make them feel better. Although she and her husband, Bob, never had children; she was a mother to many nieces and nephews. She was a family woman and put family first.
Paulette had a deep faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Community Church where her love for gospel hymns grew. In addition, she was an avid Elvis fan and absolutely loved him and his music. She also loved animals, especially her dog that was like her baby, Zoey, and her three cats.
Paulette was a wonderful woman and impacted the lives of many family and friends. Paulette had a monthly Friday lunch at the Golden Corral with her cousins. She will be dearly missed.
Paulette is survived by her brother, Dickie Ellison; nieces, Cassie Ellison, and Vanessa Ellison; nephew, Richard Ellison; great nieces, Allison Ellison, Gracie Ellison, Karissa Ellison, Cameron Ellison, Anna Ellison, and River Buttram; and great nephews, Austin Ellison, Jacob Ellison, Brentley Ellison, and Wade Moutaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Egnor, her parents, and her sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at White Oak Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow in White Oak Cemetery with Bennie Pittman, Taylor Pittman, Richard Ellison, Trapper Pittman, Drummer Napier, and Mike Egnor serving as casket bearers. Honorary Casket Bearers are Wade Moutaw, Jacob Ellison, Buddy Buttram, and Austin Ellison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Paulette’s memory.
