Paulette Lee Liestman, age 58 of Litchfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 4, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00PM with a visitation one hour prior. The family would like to invite you to celebrate the life of Polley at the American Legion in downtown Litchfield following the service. This will be a time to share stories and remember a life so beautifully lived.
Paulette “Polley” Liestman, the daughter of Erwin and Jeanne Wellbrock was born on April 28, 1965 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She was baptized at Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids and was confirmed at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Litchfield. She graduated from Litchfield High school in 1983 and attended Ridgewater College until she graduated in 1985. On September 27, 1997, she married her husband Jay Liestman at St. Philip’s Church in Litchfield. Jay and Paulette were blessed with two children, Kayla and Chase.
Paulette was an active member in the Litchfield community. She was a part of the Litchfield Wrestling Club, Songs of Summer Festival, and the Special Olympics. She enjoyed volunteering in the community and always made everyone feel included. Paulette also enjoyed singing karaoke, reading, singing, writing, writing music, watching the Minnesota Vikings, movies and spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Birkleigh.
Paulette is survived by her loving husband, Jay Liestman of Litchfield; Children Kayla Liestman of Plymouth, Chase (fiancé Sierra) of Annandale; granddaughter Birkleigh Mae Liestman; Siblings Dena (Eric) Carlson of Litchfield, Donald (Barb) Wellbrock of Litchfield, Anna (Douglas) Smith of Litchfield; mothers in law Jean Liestman and Patricia Blackwell; sisters in law Jamie Liestman, Annie (fiancé Darrell) Liestman, Becky (Jake) Hensley; brother in law Jeff Liestman; nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne and Erwin Wellbrock.
