Paulette Ann Ray

Paulette Ray, 80, of Midland passed away Friday, June 30, 2023.
Paulette married Jackie Ray on August 15, 1958 in Goldsmith, TX. They were married for 39 years until his passing.
Paulette was a District manager in the Midland area for Town and Country Food Stores until her retirement, working her way up from her first days as a sales clerk in Kermit, TX. She was awarded District Manager of the Year several times throughout multiple decades during her time with Town and Country. She was quite the leader.
Retirement wasn't for Paulette as she eventually decided to go back to work becoming an accountant at Bennett and Vincent LLC in Midland until her passing.
Her favorite past times were bowling and spending time with her family. There were many bowling trips with the ladies complete with lots of laughs. She traveled throughout the nation to bowl with them but her favorite place to go was the Fulks family reunion typically held near a lake. At the reunion, she played many games and shared lots of laughs with the people she loved the most.
Paulette enjoyed attending her Great Grandchildren's sporting events and was so thrilled to see her first great grandchild graduate from high school. Paulette was also involved with the Lions Club and a devoted member of the New Dawn Fellowship Church in Odessa.
Survivors include her daughters Kim Morris (Mark) of San Angelo and Diana Sutherland of Stroud, OK and her brothers Danny Fulks (Kathy) of San Angelo and Ron Lipsey (Vicki) of Odessa; grandchildren BJ Verette, Brandon Verette, Meagan Lee, Justin Morris, Kysha Tanner, and Jennifer Gaylord; and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jackie Ray, her daughters Starla Prestidge and Julia Ray, her brother Johnnie R. Fulks, her sister Donna Seider, and her parents Harold Fulks and Pauline Mathias.
Paulette's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. PK Patel and Dr. Mangat for their care of Paulette. They would also like to thank the Oncology Department at Midland Memorial Hospital, specifically Vicki and Erin.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2023 at New Dawn Fellowship in Odessa. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2023 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo. Purple was Paulette's favorite color. The family asks that all attendees of the service please wear purple to honor Paulette's memory.
Pallbearers include Don Seider, Toby Seider, Justin Morris, BJ Verette, Brandon Verette, Terry Lynch, Ricky Fulks, and Johnnie Fulks. Honorary pallbearers include Michael Lipsey, Joe Gassie, and George Nesresta.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Dawn Fellowship Church or Hope House (Gifts of Hope).
