Paulette Grace Suffel, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 18, 2025, at her home in Waukee, Iowa. Born on September 13, 1948, in Lake City, Iowa, Paulette's journey began in a world that she would come to enrich with her warmth, spirit, and love.

Growing up on a farm outside of Lidderdale, she was molded by the values of hard work and community. Paulette attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Lidderdale through the 10th grade before graduating from Interstate 45 High School, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service and caring for others.

Professionally, Paulette wore many hats. She began her career as an Account Clerk at EMC Insurance Company. Her nurturing spirit further found joy as a Demonstrator for Home Interiors and as a devoted Health Care Aide for Dallas County Home Care. No matter her role, her genuine compassion and kindness shone through, touching the lives of those around her.

On September 28, 1969, Paulette married the love of her life, Herbert O. Suffel, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osceola, Iowa. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Their home in Waukee, which they made in 1970, became a warm and welcoming place for family and friends, enriched with moments of joy and shared experiences.

Paulette was known for her vibrant spirit and her passion for life. Very active in her church, she found fulfillment in serving her community and building meaningful connections. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Ladies, where the bonds of friendship flourished over shared laughs and activities. An avid traveler, Paulette’s adventures often included cherished moments spent with family, and she could always be found reveling in her love for Hallmark Movies. Her mornings were often characterized by enjoying breakfasts at Cracker Barrel, a simple pleasure that brought her joy.

She was a proud mother to her son Micah P. Suffel of Waukee and Erik M. (Katrina) Suffel of Orange, California, and cherished her role as a grandmother to her grandsons Donavyn and Yohan Suffel. Each moment spent with her family was a treasured memory that she held dear to her heart.

Paulette is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Darlene Wenck, and her brother, Claire Wenck. Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband, Herbert, her two sons, and her grandsons, along with countless friends who were fortunate to have shared in her life’s journey.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at Living Faith Lutheran Church, located at 2180 NW 142nd St, Clive, Iowa, on October 31, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather to celebrate Paulette’s life, embracing the warmth and affection that she so freely gave throughout her years. She will be laid to rest at the Bethany Cemetery outside of Baxter, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed in Paulette's memory to Living Faith Lutheran Church.
