Pauline S (Lelakis) Dell’Olio, 86, of Worcester passed away surrounded by the family she loves, Friday, April 18, 2025. Pauline is welcomed into heaven into the arms of her husband of 57 years, Louis “Sonny” Dell’Olio who died in October of 2019.
Pauline was born in Hardwick, Ma, the daughter of John and Stella (Stankus) Lelakis. At the age of 6, Pauline moved with her family to Worcester, where she graduated from Commerce High School, then met and married Louis “Sonny” Dell’Olio, they settled on the Westside of Worcester where they spent the next 57 years, raising their family with faith, love and devotion until Louis left her side. She continued to guide her family with wisdom and love. Pauline worked many years for Barnes & Noble company at the Campus store at Worcester State College before retiring.
She is survived by her two children, Gina M. Holland and her husband Daniel of Millbury, Leo J. Dell’Olio and his partner Kelly McGrath of Worcester; three cherished grandchildren, Pauline and her husband Michael Scuderi, Domenic Holland and Louis Dell’Olio; A great granddaughter, Holland Faye Scuderi; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband Sonny, four sisters, Josephine Posterro, Stella Zilinski, Phyllis Morin and Helen Zelesky, also predeceased her,
Pauline was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church; She loved gardening, the beach, vacations with her family, fishing with Louie, bingo and trips to the Casino with her grandchildren. But most of all she cherished her grandchildren and found her happiest moment in life with her family gathered around her, for the holidays, special occasions or family dinners.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours Friday, April 25th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Saturday morning, from the funeral home departing in procession at 10:30 am to Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be held at a later time.
