It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline J. (Dalessio) Doherty who departed this life at the age of 95. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she left us on October 11, 2024.
Born in Boston on June 30, 1929, she was a long-time resident of Quincy, MA before moving to Rockland, MA. She was proud of her Italian heritage and brought the warmth of her culture into everything she did. As a great cook, her kitchen was the heart of the home. In addition to her culinary talents, Pauline had a passion for all games, especially cribbage and mahjong. She could frequently be found joining in any card game at the Leisurewoods’ Clubhouse.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Edward Doherty, and three older brothers, Daniel Dalessio, Mario Dalessio, and Elio Dalessio.
Pauline will be remembered fondly by her children: Donna Furman and her husband Michael of Westford, MA; Daniel Doherty of Salem, MA; Jeanne Doherty of Quincy, MA; and Edward Doherty and his wife Patricia of Quincy MA.
Pauline was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Matthew Furman and his wife Erin of Lunenburg, MA; Jillian Furman of Westford, MA; Laura O’Donnell and her husband Kevin of Westford, MA; Christopher Doherty of Quincy, MA; Bryan Doherty and his longtime partner Daniela Huynh of Brockton, MA; Emma Doherty of New York City; and Jennifer Charney and her husband Zach of Quincy, MA. She was also the very proud great-grandmother of: Tatum and Alexandra Furman, William Tarbox, Rylee and Parker Guimond, Madison Doherty, Joshua Kopec, and Ariel Charney.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
