Polly was an avid gardener who could propagate flowers, trees, and shrubs in her greenhouse. She sewed her own curtains, table linens, and many of her children’s clothing. Throughout her lifetime, she painted many beautiful paintings that she loved to share.
Polly attended Woodmont Methodist Church. In her early years, she was member of First Presbyterian and Early Avenue Baptist in Eden.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the kind women who helped take care of Ms. Polly. Deirdre Claybrooks, Pamela Lynn, Wendy McCollum, Valora Stephens, and Ava Wilson. Also, many thanks to Katie and Tasha at Ashton Place and the ladies of Woodmont who visited regularly with beautiful flowers and cards.
Most importantly, she loved her family and cherished the time spent with them.
Even after an amputation, breast cancer, and numerous paralyzing strokes, Polly never complained but carried on with dignity and grace.
