Pauline Mary Kaar

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline M Kaar, who peacefully departed from this world at the age of 99 on May 31st, 2024.

Pauline was born on February 26, 1925, in Meyersville, New Jersey in her grandmother’s farmhouse. She enjoyed a joyful childhood in Watchung, New Jersey. In 1945, she married Jacob Kaar and lived happily in their home in Warren New Jersey for most of her life. Most recently, she moved to Denver Colorado where she lived out her remaining years. She is survived by her daughter Mary Jane Saxton and her husband Alan, her son Jake Kaar and his wife Jody, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, beloved extended family and friends.

Throughout nearly a century of life, Pauline touched the hearts of all who knew her with her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church in Warren New Jersey and in recent years the Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan Colorado. As a young adult she worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s trucking business, as a school aid in Millington New Jersey, and later as a gift shop salesperson. She was a member of the Warren Senior Citizens group and was always happy to help at the Washington Valley Volunteer Fire House and the Long Valley Fire Company. She took pride in being an impeccable homemaker and host.

Pauline enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. She was happiest spending time with family and friends. She was an excellent historian, keeping her family’s rich past alive and well through pictures and storytelling. Her love for life was infectious, and she brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As the matriarch of her family, Pauline leaves behind a profound legacy of love, kindness and wisdom. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, who will forever cherish the memories they shared together. She offered no judgment to others, only kind advice and a warm hug. Pauline was known for her resilience and strength, facing life's challenges with grace and dignity. She embraced each day with a smile and a stylish outfit even into her later years.

Though she may no longer be with us in body, Pauline’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in eternal peace.

A celebration of Pauline's life will be held on June 20, 2024, at 11:00am at Holy Name Catholic Church, Sheridan, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Autism Partnership Foundation or the Oceans of Hope Foundation in her honor.
