Michael Patrick Kaar, 36, of Hill, NH passed unexpectedly on December 19, 2024 while
returning home from a plumbing job. Mike, born in Laconia, NH on January 26, 1988, came
into this world during a blizzard. Mike was raised in Sanbornton, NH on his family's horse
farm where his love for animals and the great outdoors were cultivated. He graduated from
Winnisquam Regional High School in 2006, then became a master plumber, eventually
starting his business, Kaar Plumbing & Heating which served New Hampshire's Lakes
Region. Mike's honest nature, friendly demeanor, humor, and authenticity helped him
develop a reputation which propelled his successful career in a field that he loved. Mike was
often described as being as kind as he looked. His smile, uncontrollable and contagious
laughter, generosity, selflessness and undaunted sense of adventure are traits by which he'll
be remembered. You'd often find Mike at a local coffee shop sampling pastries and juggling
two coffees or outside exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire, hiking the 4,000-
Footers, snowmobiling, or snowboarding. Mike is survived by his father Mark Kaar, Mother
Annie McCarthy, brother Daniel Kaar, sister Sarah Kaar, the love of his life, Colleen Burns
and his beloved dogs, Lucy Girl, Alvey and Swiper. Please join the Kaar family in recalling all
of the joy that Mike brought to this world during a celebration of life on Saturday, January 4,
2025 from 12:00-3:00 pm at the Merrimack Valley Railroad Function Hall, 5 Park St,
Northfield, NH 03276 where donations will be collected in Mike's honor for Franklin Animal
Shelter.
