Pauline Myrtle Tarr (Lewis-Roehrig), 93 yrs of Deerfield, died Thursday August 7, 2025, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Sylvania, OH.

Friends may visit on Thursday August 14, 2025, at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, from 10 AM until the services at 11AM. Rev. Timothy Loewe of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Lambertville, MI, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.

Born September 11, 1931, in Holland, OH. Pauline was the daughter of Harry and Eva (Reed) Lewis. She was a Swanton High School Graduate. She married Dean Roehrig from 1950-1971. Dean passed in 1999. She later married Raymond Tarr from 1987 until he passed in 2014. Pauline was a stay-at-home Mom and then later, a Teller for First National Bank for many years. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Pauline loved life. In her early years she loved picnics in the park, walks in the woods as well as fishing for Perch. She loved craft shows, garage sales and stopping by the local thrift shop to find treasures. She loved to polka dance where she would dance the night away. Often on the weekends she would go visit her parents and sisters then laugh till their bellies hurt. An organizer of all things, she would have all the family over for barbeques and parties at the pool. Mom loved painting, crafts, puzzles, sewing, and cooking up a storm.

Her favorite shows were her past time as of late and did not miss Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Funniest Home Videos, and the Animal Planet. She would watch her Church Service and count the people. She was up on everyday news, weather and talked about the above endlessly and even could engage in a bit of spirited conversation. Earlier in her years, she sang in the church choir with her sisters and when she would sing, she would harmonize with you with her favorite songs. She loved her former large dogs but recently loved having our cats to keep her laughing and giving her a good scratch. Holidays were filled with laughter and sweets, and you had to open your gifts all at the same time because Dad and Mom would buy the exact same thing for every family. We all still have those gifts too and they were sentimental no matter how small or often homemade. All of us will miss those yearly holiday cards that came for everyone in the family and all her friends.

All of us would like to say that Her smile and contagious laughter will be missed dearly. We know that we were the most important thing to her in her life and in Heaven. Not a day went by that she did not boast of her family and the people she most loved.

Survivors include: her children, Linda (Barry) Gold, Terry (Denise Knowles) Roehrig, Phyllis (Robert) Parisien, Arthur (Carrie Durkin) Roehrig; stepchildren, Terrie Tarr, Cathy Tarr, Mike (Renea) Tarr; brother, Harry Lewis, sister, Eleanor Brooks; many grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren with one on the way and an expecting great- great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a son, Roger Roehrig, stepdaughter, Raylene Shuster and siblings, Josephine, Marjory, Ivan, Flossie, Baby Eleanora, Jimmy, Crystal, Theresa, Evelyn and a Baby Ila.

Memorial contributions can be made to: Christ the King Lutheran Church 2843 Sterns Rd. Lambertville, MI 48144.
