PAULINE E. TURNER

TURNER, Pauline E. Age 89, formerly of Pelham, NH, but more recently of Windham, NH, passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2021 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a period of declining health. Born on October 17, 1932, Pauline was the daughter of the late Royal and Gertrude (Murphy) Turner, and the sister of the late Royal J. Turner. Pauline was raised in Methuen and graduated from Methuen High School, and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1954. Pauline enjoyed a long career as a medical technician, working for the U.S. Department of State in many countries around the world, including postings in Moscow, Russia (while part of the USSR); Nha Trang in Vietnam, New Delhi, India, and Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo. She finished her career with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Pauline enjoyed traveling, she bicycled around Europe in her early 20's and she continued traveling in her retirement, especially to Southeast Asia and to Ireland, where she collected information for her family genealogy, another interest of hers. She volunteered for many years in the library of the American Textile History Museum in Lowell. Pauline enjoyed organ music at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall, watching animal videos and the Animal Planet channel and she was a long-time supporter of the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen. Pauline is survived by her sister-in-law, JoAnne (Weir) Turner, her cousin, Judy Fletcher and a host of friends from her high school years through her career and into her retirement. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 10 am at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
