Pauline Rose Wallander, age 93, a resident of Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, passed away Sunday morning, June 22, 2025 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 5, 1932 in
Manitowoc, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Mella) Tadych. Pauline attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1950. On October 8, 1955 Pauline married Lloyd Wallander at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2019.
Pauline had a love of cooking, baking, traveling, reading and shopping. Mostly she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter and two sons-in-law: Paula (Ralph) Sukowaty, Manitowoc, and Dale Frank, Valders; one son and daughter-in-law: Joseph "Joe" (Carla) Wallander, Green Bay; former daughter-in-law: Cindy Wallander, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren: Alex Sukowaty (special friend Desiree), Kaitlin Sukowaty (fiancee Logan Fogeltanz), Stephanie (Curtis) Fintelmann, Chad (Anderia) Frank, Kelsi (Ryan) Keuler, Spencer Wallander (special friend Dani), Tiffany DeWall, Nicholas Wallander, Brett Wallander, and Nathan Wallander; nine great-grandchildren: Mason and Maryssa Fintelmann, Harper and Halle Frank, Watson and Walker Keuler, Dayton, Hannah, and Addison DeWall; one brother-in-law: Paul (Barbara) Wallander, Reedsville; and one sister-in-law: Alice (Gordon) Braun, Whitelaw. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She is further preceded in death by her husband: Lloyd; two sons: Greg Wallander and Nicholas Wallander; one daughter: Mary Frank; one sister: Mary Schmelzle; one brother-in-law: Clarence Wallander Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Marshall Site, 2109 Marshall Street, Manitowoc. Officiating the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm. The visitation will continue Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
