She was born the daughter of the late Albert and Artie Absher Keen, in the Fork Ridge community of Tazewell County, VA, on August 23, 1937. It was here at a very early age that she developed the beloved skill, of teaching, that followed her throughout life. She loved gathering up the neighborhood children, creating a classroom with tree stumps or large rocks to sit on and taught them their ABC's. This passion continued throughout her life. She was a 1954 graduate of Richlands High School and studied at Radford College and Southwest Virginia Community College.
Pauline was teaching fourth grade at Baptist Valley Elementary School when she was introduced to the love of her life by a co-worker. Soon she had a name change. Pauline married William Dale (Bill) Woodall, Sr; together, they had two children.
She was grounded in her faith and shared it by teaching teenage girls Sunday school class, singing duets with her mother, or just loving on the little kindergarteners who were having a bad day. Following the example of Jesus, she often sat one on her lap.
She was of the Pentecostal Faith. She loved decorating her home. and shared that love through her association with Home Interiors and Gifts, where she touched countless lives. Pauline's career ended at North Tazewell Elementary School after more than 50 years of dedicated service to the Tazewell County School System.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Dale Woodall, Sr., son William Dale Woodall, Jr., and great-granddaughter Graycelynn Johannah Sanders.
Those left to carry on her legacy are two daughters, Katrina Ann Woodall Dye (Doug), and Beverly Lynn Farmer (Jimmy); daughter-in-law JoAnn Yates Carrier (Roger); three grandsons, Jared Farmer, Josh Dye (Kristen), Hunter Woodall (Megan); two granddaughters, Anya Warner (Chad) and Cameron Lee (Jason); five great-grandsons, Bryce, Brenden, Brogan and Branham and William; one great grand-daughter, Jade Sanders (Kaden Ward); Great-great granddaughter Ella Grace; and three sisters, Shelma Richardson, Claudine Marshall and Carolyn Lewis.
