Pearl I. Bjork

PEARL I. “GG” BJORK age 91 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Thursday afternoon October 20, 2011 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She was born January 20, 1920 in New Westminster, British Coumbia, Canada a daughter of the late William and Emily (Ammann) Denchel. Mrs. Bjork had resided in Sturgis for the past six and a half years. Most of her life was lived in Washington and Oregon. On March 27, 1938 she married Harry Bjork, Sr. in Curlew, Washington. Mrs. Bjork was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and farm wife. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, reading books and listening to music. She and her family were proud of the fact that well into her 80s she learned to use her computer and loved emailing her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Irene Hunter of Sturgis and Dorothy Hiedeman of The Dells, Oregon, one son, Harry Bjork of Homer, Alaska, ten grandchildren, Syonja Gustafson of Cedar City, Utah, Suzann Wooten of Sturgis, Teresa Fisher of Sturgis, Monica Chapman of Three Rivers, LaDonna (Dallas) Peterson of Sturgis, Bobbi (Chuck) Pferrer of Deland, Florida, Donald Hiedeman of Oregon, Gil Hiedeman of Nevada, Julie Hiedeman of Oregon and Shawn McClure of Arizona, 21 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Brian Hunter and one great grandson, Christopher Allen Franks. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Pearl I. “GG” Bjork will be held at 2:00 Tuesday at the Fawn River Apartments, 1301 Cato Lane in Sturgis. The Rev. Deb Johnson of the First United Methodist Church of Sturgis will officiate. The Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E.
