Pearl J. Griffin was born on August 2,1925 to the late Lee and Grace Griffin in Sharples ,Logan Co. West Virginia, she was one of three daughters. Pearl lived a radiant life full of love, resilience, and unyielding determination. She spent her remarkable 100 years shaping the lives of those around her, fostering a legacy that will continue to inspire generations. She accepted Christ at a young age. After finishing her Education she found a job as an elevator operator.

Pearl and her 3 year old son Frank, then moved to Columbus, Oh for a better life. They joined Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She loved singing, joined the Adult choir and worked with the children's choir.

She was a phenomenal woman with great faith. Mother Pearl had a wonderful sense of humor, loved gardening, music dancing and a deep rooted faith in God and love for family. She was a dedicated in the service industry at The Ohio State University, she worked her way up to Housing Supervisor for more than 30 years. Pearl was a beacon of strength and wisdom.

Years later she the joined Hope Lutheran Church. She was a faithful member who enjoyed singing in the choir and worked with the quilting Ministry.

Pearl was the beloved mother of Frank Nelson and her bonus daughter Doris she was the cherished grandmother of Athena Walton and Tonda Nelson . She was the soul of their family, and her love and guidance will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands Samuel Nelson and Willie Clopton which she was blessed with. Pearl also is preceded in death by her Parents, Lee Griffin, and Grace Bass.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Son, Frank (Doris)Nelson, Grandchildren: Athena Walton and Tonda Nelson. Great Grandchildren: Devoreaux Walton, Jordan Walton and Jalyn Jefferson. Sisters: Johnnie Mae Hearns. Nephew: Jerry Jewell .Niece: Clinetta (Kevin) Muhammad and a host of Great nieces and family.
