Pearl INGWALDSON Obituary

May 17, 1929 - Mar 11, 2026

Pearl Anna Ingwaldson quietly passed into glory on the morning of March 11, 2026. Pearl was born May 17, 1929, to Vito Andreano and Elizabeth Koch in La Porte, Indiana. She was the last of three girls, and much younger than her sisters, Lucille and Rose. "Pearlie," as she was referred to when young, grew up in La Porte and attended schools there, graduating high school in 1947. She enjoyed summer days at Lake Michigan, dancing and spending time with friends. She met Lew Ingwaldson in the summer of 1949, and after a very whirlwind romance, they married on November 11. Shortly after, they moved out west to Phoenix, Arizona. With three kids in tow, they returned to Indiana so Lew could attend college. Pearl typed every term paper and checked every assignment, and they welcomed baby number four. After a few years in ministry in New Mexico, Lew and Pearl packed up their (now) five kids and returned to Indiana for Lew to attend bible seminary. Again, she kept the house running, typed all the term papers, and had baby number six. They returned to the west and served in ministry again and had one last child. Pearl was an amazing homemaker, churning out so many dinners and packing lunches for decades. She managed the finances, sewed clothing, taught kindergarten for a few years, and remained, always, the love of Lew's life. She had a beautiful soprano voice, the softest skin, and was a committed letter-writer, card-sender, and encourager. She was a faithful Christian and kept prayer journals for many years. When Lew retired in 1991, they moved to New Mexico, where they enjoyed their family there for 25 years. In 2016, Pearl and Lew moved to Spokane, WA, again, this time to be closer to family who could help them in their twilight years. Lew preceded her in passing two years ago, and she was looking forward to being with her Lew and also with her savior in heaven. Pearl is survived by Mike and Cheryl (Ingwaldson) McLean, Greg and Kristi (Peterson) Ingwaldson, Terry and Mary (Casaletta) Ingwaldson, Randy and Joy (Ingwaldson) Keezer, Dale and Amy (Ingwaldson) Olmstead, Steve and Laura (Ingwaldson) Tesdahl, and Angelo and Alyssa (Ingwaldson) Santos. Along with raising their seven children, they welcomed 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was a dearly loved mother and will be greatly missed.

A viewing is scheduled at Hennessey Funeral Home at 2203 N. Division at 10AM, followed by a funeral service at 11AM.
