Mrs. Pearl Koning, 96, of Redlands, CA passed away Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025 at her residence.

She was born April 7, 1929 in Hawarden, IA. Her parents were the late Marie and Cornelis VanderStelt.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Calvin Koning, her second husband of 6 years,

Wynand Koning, her grandson Michael Jason VanderWal and seven siblings.

Pearl is survived by two sons and two daughters in law, John and Sheryl Koning of Jerome, Idaho and Ron & Karen Koning of Yucaipa, CA;

one daughter and son in law, Kathleen and Mark VanderWal of Redlands, CA; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one step son and one daughter in law

Daryl and Sonja Koning of Aurora, Ohio; two step daughters and two step sons in law, Jim and Barb Boonstra of Littleton, CO and Randy & Wendy Van Dahm of Elmhurst, IL; 8 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Koen.

Pearl moved to Artesia, CA with her family when she was 7 years old. She then moved to Redlands when she and Calvin were married.

Pearl was a member of the Christian Reformed Churches in Bellflower, CA and Redlands, CA.

Pearl was a stay at home mom until 1967 when she went to work for the Redlands Unified School District.

She worked in food service there for 22 years.

Pearl loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially liked playing games and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and reading, was a gifted seamstress and crocheted dozens of afghans.

Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 23 at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands at 11:00AM with a reception following at the River Church in Redlands
