PJ worked for Old Dominion Freight Line for many years. When not working, PJ could be found riding his motorcycle, four wheeling, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving is his mother, Sandra Cox; father, Harry Popejoy; his ole lady, Dez Coleman; three sons: Kooper, Jayden, and Carson Popejoy; and sisters: Melissa Popejoy, Jessica Popejoy, Samantha Popejoy, and Ashley Camara. He was uncle step daddy to Dani, Kristina, Chris, Paul, and Aaron. PJ is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, step grandbabies, and a wide group of motorcycle brothers.
PJ was preceded in death by his stepfather, Matthew Fast; maternal grandparents, Guy and Jackie Andrews; and paternal grandfather, Harry Popejoy, Sr.
Funeral services for PJ will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, with Rev. Dr. Samuel E. Wickard officiating. Burial will follow in Canandaigua Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian as well as before services on Thursday from noon until 2:00 p.m.
You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to aid with future expenses in the caregiving of PJ's children. Envelopes are available at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.

Sandy my heart is with you!! I feel your pain! Your heart never heals after the loss of a child (even if they are adults), you just go through the motions of trying to move on. Keep those memories alive and talk about all the crazy and funny stuff he did! When you start to find fines randomly know that they are coming from PJ. Or when the cardinals start coming he´s there! Love you my sweet friend!

Sandy You have all my love. I know what you are going thru and believe me after 15 years it gets no better. They are the love of our lives and when they passes a piece of us passed. My sympathy to you my dear. I hope you handle it better than me.
