Pearl Maxine Spence, 87, of Mountain Home, Idaho, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at her home with family by her side. Pearl was born April 29, 1937, in Mountain Home, Idaho, to parents William J. and Edith M. (Smith) Love.

Pearl attended school through the 8th grade in Glenns Ferry and graduated from Mountain Home High School.

Pearl Married Melvin Spence on September 3rd, 1954. They had their first home in Huntington, OR and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. They followed to Lime, LaGrande, Baker, and St. Louis, Oregon before returning to Mountain Home.

Melvin and Pearl had four daughters: Debra Griffith, Lenda Spence, Billie (Jeff) Denny and Kathy (Brad) Johnson.

Pearl was a fan of nature and loved flowers, especially petunias and peonies. Decorating for Memorial was an annual family event. Pearl and Melvin enjoyed many trips to places like Niagara Falls, Yellowstone and Tillamook, and in their tent trailer Red Bridge, South Dakota, Wallowa Lake, and Pearl's favorite spot Catherine Creek.

Aunt Pearl was like a second mother to me growing up. She is loved and missed by many. Please hug my Mom and Dad while your up in heaven playing cards with them. Happy Heavenly Birthday Aunt Pearl. Love Kim

Kathy,
We are so so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother Pearl tonight. Although we didn´t get a chance to know her personally, the stories you have shared of your family is so appreciated over these past few years.

Please know that our hearts go out to you, your dad and your siblings at this very difficult time.

May you find comfort in the beautiful memories you shared with her and in knowing that her love and spirit will always be with you. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
