Pearl Darlene Welsh

Pearl Darlene Welsh, age 89, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1936, to Robert and Pearl Hunter in Big Fork, Minnesota and was raised as part of a large family in Culver, Minnesota. Darlene graduated from Alborn School and went on to work at Northern Drug Co. in Duluth, Minnesota until her retirement. She also made her love of antiques part of her career, owning and operating Sweet Memories Antique Shop. Darlene also loved her flowers and gardening, and enjoyed blue birds. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren, becoming affectionately known to them as "Grandma Darling" and serving as their protector.

Darlene will be remembered by her children, Shelly Johnson, Tammyra Koenen, Kerry Welsh, and Kip Welsh; grandchildren, Billie Jo Johnson, Michelle DeFrancisco, Lawrence Wittkop, David Johnson, Justin Johnson, Misty Anderson, Heather Koenen, Christopher Welsh, Chianne Welsh, Lacy Welsh, Jordan White, Tabitha Welsh, Chad Welsh, Nicole Lockwood, and Katelynn Welsh; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Dolly Pedersen, Wesley Hunter, Ivan Hunter, Dorena Adreoni, Dale Hunter, Donna First, Lilly DeLuca, Lila Clemens, and Tex Hunter; as well as eight half-siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Kim, Doug, and Brett Welsh.

Private family services will be held. Spring interment will be at Spruce Hill Cemetery in Alborn Township, Minnesota. Nelson Funeral Care has been entrusted with arrangements.
