Pearlie Shaw-Andrews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perry Funeral Home - Newark on Dec. 10, 2025.
Pearlie Mae Shaw-Andrews was born on September 16, 1951 in Raeford, North Carolina to the late Ernest and Sarah Margaret Shaw. She entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2025
A longtime resident of East Orange, New Jersey Pearlie attended and graduated from East Orange High School in 1969. She went on to obtain her degree in Behavioral Health at Essex County College in Newark, NJ. Pearlie retired from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark after 30 years and also worked part-time at Harmony House.
A dedicated Pastor's Aide she lived and devoted her life to Christ. Pearlie has been a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church since 2007 where she continued to strengthen her walk with God. With unwavering faith, she would pray for her family at a moment's notice and teach them all to keep their eyes on God always.
Pearlie's love for baking has crowned her the sweet potato pie queen within the family. She always treated herself to the finer things in life. Mikasa figurines, a vast collection of Charles Bibbs artwork and designer handbags. You never had to guess what she was thinking because she left nothing to be said to get her point across. Big Sis or Auntie to most, and a great friend to others, she was held with the highest respect as the matriarch of the Shaw family.
Pearlie is preceded in death by her husband Norman Andrews, her daughter Kyonna L. Shaw, and sisters, Lucille Shaw-Coleman, Johnnie Mae Murchison, Angela D. Shaw and Lisa Shaw. She leaves to mourn her loving son Lamar Shaw, sister Deborah Ann Skipworth (Vernon), brothers Thomas L. Shaw and Ricky Shaw, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her tremendously.
