Pedro Silva Barajas, 93 of Greenfield passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born June 22, 1930 in Michoacán, Mexico.
Pedro married Maria Del Carmen Gutierrez February 4, 1957 in Jalisco, Mexico. He worked as a tractor driver and welder in agriculture. He was a board member at Southern Monterey County Medical Clinic and was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He loved talking with neighbors and helping them with their yards. He was always willing to help anyone. He did masonry work for his friends and neighbors, and for the Greenfield Catholic Church. He enjoyed building and helping them build sidewalks with stone and cement. He loved to play guitar and write songs as well as singing them.
Pedro is survived by his three children, Martha (Allen) Paxton, Maria (Daniel) Montes, and Martin (Anita) Barajas; grandchildren, Eric (Mary Kate) Paxton, Kevin (Sharon) Paxton, Olivia (Jimmie Zuniga) Montes, Carlos Montes, Oscar (Marissa Criado) Montes, Alexis Castro, Derick Barajas, and Aaron (Christina) Barajas; great grandchildren, Rose and William Paxton, Elisabeth and Amelia Paxton, Denisia Zuniga, Mila Montes, Daniella and Madalynn Montes, Matthew and Amanda Castro, Destinee, Derick Jr., Delylah and Davian Barajas; Aaron Jr., and Nathan and Aubrey Barajas.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Del Carmen Gutierrez Barajas; grandchild, Patricia Montes; his parents, Senon Barajas Gomez and Maria Del Carmen Silva Oliveros; brothers, Rafael and Francisco; sister Evangelina.
A Visitation and Rosary service was held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Eddington Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 19, 2024 followed by burial in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Greenfield, Calif.
