Pedro Franco, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 65 on September 23, 2025, at his home in Litchfield, Minnesota. Born on November 9, 1959, in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas, Mexico. Pedro was the cherished son of Lorenzo and Ramona (Mares) Franco. At the age of 15, he made the courageous journey to Minnesota, which became his home for the rest of his life.
Pedro's heart found its perfect match in Katherine Knutson. The two met in 1976 and shared a beautiful and loving life together, raising three wonderful children: Roxanne, Hannibal, and Anthony. Their love united in marriage in 2019.
Throughout his life, Pedro wore many hats, from working at Jenni-O Foods, B. Lease and Sons, and Custom Products, to expressing his creativity as a tattoo artist. A man of diverse interests, he found joy in playing guitar and immersing himself in music, and spending time with his pet cats. Pedro's adventurous spirit led him to enjoy martial arts, spending time outside, bird watching, billiards, and cooking delicious meals for his family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Katherine, and their children, Roxanne (Marc) Wettstein, Hannibal (Azalea) Wolong, and Anthony Knutson, all of Litchfield. Pedro was also a proud grandfather to Alyssa Knutson (Jon Wanha) and Andre Estrada (Emma Herr). He leaves behind a loving family, including brothers Joseph Franco, Felix Franco, Jose "Nacho” Franco, and Lorenzo Franco Jr., sisters Rosa Martinez, Veronica Boyer, and Maria Franco Ninneman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Lorenzo and Ramona Franco; twin brother Pablo and brother Natalio; sisters Maria Isabel and Maria Margarita; nephews Gabriel and Issac; and niece Magda.
