Pedro Juan Vargas was born April 12, 1936, in Cidra, Puerto Rico. Pedro was the son of the late Enrique Vargas Dela Torre and Maria Luisa Rivera Santos. Pedro's siblings that preceded him in death are Guadalupe, Esther, Aurora and Enrique. His surviving siblings are Elba Roque and Tedosio Vargas.

Pedro was called to sit next to his Father in heaven on April 10, 2025, two days before his 89th birthday. Pedro is survived by his wife of 47 years Joyce Vargas. Pedro's children are Jewel Campbell (Harry), Maria Vargas-Graves (Donnie) and MayraLiz Enamorado. Pedro's love for his grandchildren Alexis Graves-Vargas, Aaliyah Graves-Vargas, Donnie Graves Jr., Rodolfo Enamorado II, Rodolfo Enamorado III, Marieli Enamorado, his great grandchild Ja'Sai Hickerson-Cruz, and his dog Lola was immeasurable. Family was not only limited by blood. Pedro had encompassed some special people in his life as a family. His adopted family consisted of Wilberto Santiago (Brother), Carlos Melendez (Brother), Issac Miller (Son), Joshua Ledee (Grandson), Eli Sanchez (Daughter), Latisha Rodriguez (Daughter) and many more. We apologize to anyone not listed as there were so many special people Pedro loved. Pedro was known as many funny and loving names such as Dad, Papí, Grandpa, Abuelo, Chupacabra, Pita, Pedrito, Osvaldo, Viejo, Peter, Pete, Pedro Geez, Freddy Bumper.

Pedro was a compassionate family man, kind, caring, funny, outspoken, direct, down to earth, outgoing, a hard worker, and he was the salt of the earth. Pedro received his education in Puerto Rico. He provided for his family and retired from Capital Products (22 years), Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Harrisburg State Hospital (6 years) and was a self employed contractor under the AFL-CIO (13 years).

Outside of Pedro's love of people; he also loved ALL animals, flowers, and seeds. Pedro was kind and loving to God's creatures. Pedro grew up on the family farm; where he flourished and honed in his gifts of cultivation of plant life and his passion for animals. Pedro was well known for his green thumb. He enjoyed watching tv shows; some of his favorites were WWE Wrestling, Law & Order SVU, and Telenovelas. Pedro took great pleasure in cooking, listening to music, dancing, and singing. He attended the Latino Hispanic American Community Center where he was able to embrace people from his heritage. Recently, he discovered BINGO at the Center, and Oak Street Health. He was a BINGO fan. Pedro was a parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Both Saint Francis and Pedro were known for their deep love of nature, particularly animals, simplicity and humility. Pedro inspired people through his emphasis on compassion and service to others. Pedro will be deeply missed by his loved ones. May he continue to rest in God's arms.
