Peggy Batten, age 66, passed away in Jacksonville, FL on May 12, 2023. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on August 19, 1956 to Richard and Maxine Christy. Peggy graduated high school but continued some on-line classes. She married Stan Batten on April 23, 2016.
After raising her son and working a full time job, she went to work at Alert Heating and Air. She then became part owner of Christy Wings and Things before she decided to retire and take care of her beloved mother. Peggy loved family get-to-gathers, gardening, crocheting and Diamond Dot Art. She was also a proud owner of two fur babies, Pebbles and Precious.
She is survived by her mother, Maxine Christy Case; husband, Stan Batten; son, Desse Frank Powers, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Maria Christy; sister and brother-in-law, Merry and Ken Reinsch and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Angie Christy.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Christy.
A visitation for Peggy will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. A burial will occur after the service at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
