Peggy S. Beightol, 87, of Pleasant Gap, passed away at home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Born March 8, 1937, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late William Sager and Mary (Jury) Sager, and stepfather Theodore Lindquist. On August 10, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Stellard T. Beightol, Jr., who survives at home after sharing over 69 years of marriage together.
Peggy was a 1955 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. For more than 10 years, she worked as a secretary at the office of Dr. Mulhatten and Dr. Mikelonis in State College before going to work for the Fish Hatchery.
In addition to her husband, Stellard, she is survived by their four children, Melissa Solt (Michael) of Pleasant Gap, Kathy Emel (Randy) of Bellefonte, Lisa Struble (Tim) of Bellefonte, and David Beightol of Everett; eight grandchildren: Erin Ko (Anson), Travis Stahlman, Kristin Lyons (George), Jesse Emel (Jessie), Timothy Struble, Jr. (Tami Colglazier Keller), Dustin Corl (Elannie), Jamie Doyle (Jeremy), and Alicia McGlaughin (Denton James); 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, Charles Sager of Unionville.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings: Russell Sager, Alberta Watson, Gertrude Lucas, Richard Sager, Dorothy Cain, Anna Mary Taylor, Theodore Lindquist, Jr., Albert Sager, William Sager, Donald Sager, Pearl Moorehead, and Terry Lindquist, and a grandson, Keegan Beightol.
Peggy was a life member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap. She enjoyed going camping, sewing and crocheting, collecting recipes and perfecting them in the kitchen, and going shopping. More than anything, she loved to care about and spend time with her family. She leaves behind countless memories that her loved ones will hold in their hearts for years to come.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 160 N. Main Street, Pleasant Gap. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM, at the church, with Pastor Laura Waltermire officiating. Burial services will immediately follow at Pleasant Gap Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
