Ms. Margaret (Peggy) Belote, 68, a resident of Belle Haven, VA, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onley, VA. She was the daughter of the late Herbert G. White Sr. and the late Lenora W. White.
Peggy started her career at Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital, which later became Riverside Shore Memorial, where she was a medical billing specialist for ~30 years before retiring in 2011. She went on to work for Dr. John Foley at Eastern Shore Eye Center in Exmore, VA for ten years. She ended her career at Seashore Eyecare in 2024. Throughout her career, Peggy made many lifelong friendships that she cherished.
Peggy’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. From watching them play sports, dance, a role in a church play or any other activities, she was always their biggest supporter. She also loved her dogs, Bailey and Abby, where on most days you could find all three snuggled in the recliner.
Peggy is survived by her former husband, Jay Belote and their children Autumn B. Sinclair (Chad) and Myles G. Belote (Emily). Her grandchildren Savannah, Hayden, Avery, Myles Jr., Scarlett, and Lainey. She is also survived by her niece, Crystal Foti (Mike) and nephew, Trey White. In addition to her family, she is survived by her dear friends, Marcella Belote, Sharon Collins, Stacy Cannon, Brenda Bonniwell and many more.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Exmore Baptist Outreach Building from 4-6 pm. Time of Remembrance will be conducted by Rev. Jonathan Carpenter.
