Peggy Wynelle Boyd, 77, of
Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. Born on January 11, 1949, to Ralph and Laverne Boyd in
Austin, Texas. Peggy lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
Peggy graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor in the early 1970's with her educator certification, embarking on a career that reflected her passion for teaching and nurturing young minds. Her dedication to education was matched only by her unwavering devotion to her faith and loved ones.
A lifelong Texan, Peggy and her family became members of Woodlawn Baptist Church 54 years ago. Her commitment to her faith was steadfast; she carried a true heart for God throughout her life. Regardless of the circumstances-whether in times of joy or hardship-Peggy never failed to remind those around her that "God is good." Her faith was not just a belief but a guiding principle that shaped every aspect of her life.
Peggy loved playing games, whether at Woodlawn Baptist Church or the Affinity community where she lived. She formalized a gaming calendar her first week after moving to Affinity. No matter her circumstances or health concerns, Peggy would faithfully serve in Vacation Bible School-crafts each year, serving God and serving the children were her priority. Lastly, Peggy loved the Singles class and its members at Woodlawn Baptist Church.
Peggy's three great loves were her faith, her family, and teaching. She was the Lord's servant in every sense of the word, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness and care for those around her were defining traits that left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her niece, Anita Colville of Pensacola, Florida, as well as several cousins who cherished their connection with Peggy. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralf M. Boyd and Laverne Burt Boyd; and her sister, Judy Boyd Colville.
Peggy's legacy is one of love, devotion, and service-a life lived with purpose and grace. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4600 Menchaca Rd. at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Children's Ministry of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
