Peggy Joan Brethauer

1941 - 2026

In Loving Memory of Peggy Joan (Overman) Brethauer, 84, of Reynoldsville, known affectionately to her community as "PJ," passed away at home on Saturday, January 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, honesty, and a life lived at full speed.

She was born in Reynoldsville on July 9, 1941, a daughter of the late Howard Roland Overman and Helen Virginia (Coyne) Overman.

On December 23, 1976, she married Clyde Lewis Brethauer. They enjoyed thirty-two years together, and she had fond memories of riding motorcycles with Clyde. He preceded her in death on their anniversary in 2008.

Peggy thrived on being involved in her community, she volunteered at the Foundry, she was a member of the American Legion and Eagles in Reynoldsville, where she served on the board of trustees and in various roles. She also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by four children, Robert Loughridge of Huntingdon, Donna (Mark) Neely of Allentown, Sharon (John "Red") Coyne of Pittsburgh, Tracy (Gary) Michaels of West Mifflin, son in-law Steve Petho of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Amber Scheetz, Jared Scheetz and Cody Dugas, Jessica Petho, Chelsea Petho, Amanda Loughridge, Cory Michaels, Alyssa Michaels, and Christopher Brethauer; great grandchildren, Lucia Scheetz, Demie, Olivia and Dominic Dugas, Ellie Chamberlain, Sophia Brown, Suzie, Sophia and Emma Michaels, Brendan, Gavin, Knox and Quinn Brethauer.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde, two sons, Thomas W. Loughridge and Robert Brethauer; daughter, Kim Petho; one sister, Nancy Hulick.
