Peggy Lou Cecil, age 86, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 22, 1939, in New Martinsville, WV, a daughter of the late Lewis R. and A. Murrell Carmen Furbee. She was a retired self-employed day care provider and a member of the First Christian Church in Proctor, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert R. Cecil; brother, Jim Furbee; grandson, Shane Cecil; and stepmother, Josie Furbee. She is survived by five sons, Steven Mark Cecil, Darrell R. Cecil, and Lawrence B. Cecil, all of New Martinsville, Jeffrey S. (Beth) Cecil of Winchester, Virginia, and Curtis R. Cecil of Waxhaw, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Megan N. Cecil, Kaitlyn J. Cecil, Jamie Crow, Steven Cecil Jr., Jeremy S. Cecil, Amy R. Radcliff, Rachael M. Cain, Joshua S. Cecil, Cassidy Ruth, Bailey M. Cecil, and Gabriell A. Pavlik; thirty six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Tuesday September 9 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 3rd Street, New Martinsville, WV where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Dwight Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Northview Cemetery New Martinsville, WV. Memorial contributions may be made in Peggy's honor to Proctor Christian Church 312 Plum St. Proctor, WV 26055.
