Peggy Jean Childers

St. Charles, Missouri- Peggy Jean Childers, 80, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at her home.
She was born March 2, 1943 in Newport to the late Jewel and Lorene Tucker Bolls. She was a devout Jehovah's Witness her entire life. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others and her faith sustained her through many difficulties. She was a loving mother to her three children and their spouses. She loved to cook. She was known for her fabulous pecan pie, turkey and dressing, and yeast rolls but everything she made was delicious. She also loved to plant a small vegetable garden and loved flowers, especially her azaleas that bloomed every spring in her front yard. Many commented on her sweet southern voice that just put everyone at ease. She was simply a joy to be around and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Laurette Fielding (David), Scotty Childers Jr. and Heather Bowen (Ryan) all of St. Charles; a brother, William Bolls and a sister, Jamie Tatro.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Scotty Allen Childers Sr. and two sisters, Betty Hopkins and Barbara Sneed.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at Lorado Cemetery with Ryan Bowen officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
