Our Mom and Nana, Barbara Ann Duncan, 89, a beautiful lady, full of devotion for Jesus Christ and undying love for her family passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 20,2025. Barbara was born on September 26, 1936 to Albert and Louise Witt and lived her whole life not far from her home place where she was raised. On February 10, 1956 she married her soulmate, Bill Duncan, and they walked hand in hand for almost 66 years.
Mom was a giver to all. Her time, talents, and her most coveted “Johnny Hoosier” chocolate cake was enjoyed by many and was a requirement at all family gatherings. She was most happy when all her family was together, especially at Christmas. Mom loved Christmas time and cheerfully gave more than she received. Mom was a dedicated member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, her brother, Charles Witt, and her sister, Ada Cole.
She is survived by her daughter, Rowanne (Phil) Veal; her son, Brian (Theresa) Duncan; four grandchildren, Jason (Jami) Veal, Amie (Dan) Lincoln, Brady (Ashley) Duncan, and Tanner (Lauren) Duncan six greatgrandchildren, Garrett, Cashton, Taylor, Victoria, Bader, and Ireland; as well as three sisters, Wanda Dillihay, Patsy Dacus, and Phyllis Wiggins.
Moms life lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and other lives that she touched by her love and kindness that she so freely gave. Comfort comes to our family knowing mom has been reunited with dad in Heaven and she finally gets to experience and see the glorious wonders of Heaven and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 620 W Philadelphia Rd. Jonesboro. Visitation will began at 10:00 am with Memorial Services to follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Bro. Tommy Stacy. Our mom will be laid to rest next to our dad at Philadelphia Cemetery.
She will be honored by her grandsons as pallbearers.
