Peggy Ann Cooley, 82 passed away on May 2, 2025.
Peggy Ann Cooley was born on May 20th, 1942 to Frank Bernard Wheelwright and Delila East in Salt Lake City Utah. Peggy grew up in Rose Park and graduated from West High. She graduated with an Associates Degree in business from LDS Business College.
Peggy married Dean Warren Cooley on April 26th, 1968 and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, and went on to have five children; Frank, Stephanie, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Adrienne.
Peggy was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served alongside Dean for many years in the primary youth program. She was an example of her unwavering faith and pulled strength from the knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ and his atonement. She suffered a big part of her life with many ailments and that faith helped her work through them every day.
Peggy loved crafts, ceramics, and painting. She loved to decorate her house and created a beautiful home that was the center of many holiday get-togethers. She loved to cook and food is where many of our family memories were made gathered around the table. She loved her yard and always had beautiful flowers on display in cute, fun pots all around the yard with the most lush, best looking green grass in the whole neighborhood.
Peggy loved to get dressed up and have somewhere to be. She was known for her beautiful nails, and always having on lipstick. Grandma Peggy(she was best known for) was always dressed to the nines with hair done, makeup, jewelry, and the most stylish of outfits everywhere she went.
Grandma Peggy loved her grandbabies, great grandbabies, and children with all her heart, they were her pride and joy. You never doubted if Grandma Peggy loved you. She remembered everyone's birthday and never forgot to send a card. She had a knack and talent for picking out the best cards that fit your personality perfectly. She took it very seriously.
Peggy was a hard worker and loved her job at Hunter Cowan and worked well into her 70's. When her husband Dean became immobile and confined to a chair, she tirelessly took great care of her sweetheart for years. When he was admitted to a long care facility she rarely missed a day visiting him. In spite of all the trials Peggy carried she had a blessed full, rich life with a family that loved her tremendously. Her relationship with Dean was admirable and inspiring and together they created a beautiful family full of love and happiness. We are proud of their legacy and will miss our mom/grandma but know she is happily reunited with her sweetheart.
Peggy is preceded in death by her sweetheart of 57 yrs Dean Warren Cooley, her parents Frank Bernard Wheelwright and Delila East and siblings Wesley Wheelwright, and Jay Wheelwright, and son Joshua Cooley.
Peggy is survived by her children Frank Adrian Cooley (Natalie Gibilterra Cooley), Stephanie Ann Cooley Hansen (Jeffery Hansen), Jeremiah Wheelwright Cooley (Amanda Puffer Cooley), and Adrienne Cooley Marshall (Gus Marshall), thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two sisters, Jean Imlay and Janice Wheelwright.
Peggy will be missed by so many and we will feel her loss.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Minersville LDS Church (130 Main Street, Minersville, UT 84752) with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am and the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Enoch City Cemetery in Enoch, UT under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
