Peggy J. Golden, a cherished homemaker and beloved matriarch, was born on March 29, 1932, in Logansport, Louisiana. She entered eternal peace on May 22, 2025, in Port Arthur, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family and friends.
For 73 wonderful years, Peggy was the devoted wife of Sonny Golden. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and shared memories, having first met in the seventh grade. Their enduring partnership became a testament to true love, an inspiration to all who knew them.
Peggy's life was enriched by her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She delighted in bargain shopping for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in selecting thoughtful gifts that reflected her love for them. Her radiant spirit was often seen as she spent time coloring and playing games, creating precious moments with her grandchildren Blake Trahan and Lauren Trahan; and Shelby Hebert. The warmth and affection she shared extended further to her great-grandchildren, Jayde Solomon, Chandler Brewer, Addison Trahan, Rylee Brewer, Nash Solomon, and Krew Solomon, all of whom will miss her dearly.
An active member of the First Baptist Church of Port Neches, Peggy contributed her talents as a seamstress for the church's Christmas pageants, leaving an indelible mark on her community. She also enjoyed playing golf and tennis, embracing life with enthusiasm and a zest for recreation.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Sonny Golden, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who remain a testament to her nurturing spirit. She is fondly remembered by her brother, Donald Jones, and his wife, Gail, as well as her son-in-law, Craig Hebert. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion, will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lola Jones, and her beloved daughter, Rene' Hebert and granddaughter Mauri Trahan.
A visitation in honor of Peggy will be held on May 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651. A graveside service will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
As we gather to celebrate her life and the countless ways she enriched ours, we remember Peggy J. Golden, a woman of strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those she leaves behind.
