Funeral service for Peggy Jean Goolsby, age 77, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastors Derrick and Sandra Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Bevills Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Peggy was born on January 8, 1948, in Madison Co., Alabama to the late Mercel Bailey and Ida Ruth Thomas Bailey. She was a member of the New Life Heart to Heart Church. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and fellowshipping with her church family. Peggy passed away on June 25, 2025, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Goolsby; children, Agena Clark (late Donnie), Apollo Katona (Albert), and Jim Goolsby (Kim); grandchildren, Candace Davis (Adam), Tracie Vickers (Jonathan), Crystal Goolsby (Ben), Dyna Daniel (Allen), Sarah Katona (Derrick), Reagan Katona, Kasey Goolsby, Kelly Goolsby (Hunter), Kristina Goolsby, Kathryn Deyton (Corey), Kayla Goode (Alan), Brad Fitch, and Josh Robinson; great-grandchildren, Briley (Elliott), Luke (Kaitlyn), Trevor, Morgan, Jayden, Ashton, Evan, Lauren, Caleb, Urijah, Ronald, Silas, Blaze, Logan, Noah, Brinlee, Bristol, Mason, Tylan, Uriah, Garrett, Jackson, Alexis, Peyton, Collin, Bud, Bryer, and Keegan; great-great-grandchildren, Layla, Noah, and Tinsley; and numerous extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her late husband, Wayne Gaultney; son, Patrick Goolsby; sister, Betty Tucker; and her brother, Jerry Bailey.
