Peggy Hall, 81, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away after putting up one hell of a fight with her "9" by her side on November 3, 2025. Peggy Sue was born on February 12, 1944, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Leta and Howard Kirkley.
She grew up surrounded by love and laughter and graduated from Clovis High School in New Mexico. Peggy later moved to La Porte, Texas, where she began building a beautiful life with her first husband and her girls. After her first husbands passing she was blessed to have a second great love, Assistant Police Chief Robert "Roy" Hall, in 1973. The two shared many wonderful years together before marrying on December 22, 1987 and spent the next 22 years enjoying retirement together including trips with friends to the casinos and cattle auctions before his passing in 2009.
Peggy's professional life was defined by dedication to providing for her girls. She worked with La Porte Independent School District, the Cowboy Store, and Bayshore National Bank, where her work ethic and style never went unnoticed.
Peggy and Roy made their home in New Waverly, Texas, where she enjoyed the simple country life-raising cattle, the flower field, her pond, watching sunsets and wildlife in her backyard, and especially the company of her beloved donkeys, Slim and Bolt and cat Gypsy. She loved country music, westerns, good Mexican food, and throughout her life did crafting of all sorts. Her grandchildren will always remember summers waking up to the smell of her cooking and the percolator going, swimming in hard side small pools, riding on their longhorns, jumping in leaf piles, and sitting side by side with her in the swing her Dad made on the back porch. Later her great grandkids would get to enjoy rides with her in her "mule", playing cornhole, board games, ring toss, and getting into mischief. The memory that will forever define her was her love of Christmas especially decorating her beautiful tree, candy white elephant where she would steal the good stuff, her nutcrackers, snowman, her handmade shirts for her grandchildren every holiday, and the stockings she handmade. She recently moved in with granddaughter Heather and got to enjoy being spoiled, watching her great grandson play baseball, visits with her great granddaughters, and lunch and breakfast dates with her daughter Cindy. She was looking forward to all of what being closer to family was going to entail.
Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, David "Reggie" Reed; her devoted husband, Robert "Roy" Hall; her beloved son-in-law, Alonzo "Lonny" Meadows Jr; her T.T.O.B. parents, Leta and Howard Kirkley; sister-in-law Pam Kirkley; and her best friend Kathryn McNabb.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Meadows and Mildred Reed-Webb; her grandchildren, Heather Bean and husband Brent and their children Torrin, Brendan and Kaylee, Jake Meadows, Josh Meadows and wife Tiffany and their children Autumn and Hazel, Brian Webb and wife Jolanda, David Webb and wife Vicki with their children David Jr and Riley, Michael Webb and wife Keira with their children Chayston and Karsyn, and Matthew Webb; Sister Judy Walker and niece Donne Walker, Brother David Kirkley and wife Carolyn, Brother Richard Kirkley, sister Pam Havard and husband Larry, sister Debra Widener, brother Steven Kirkley and husband Derrick, and brother Keith Kirkley and wife LeAnn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Peggy will be remembered for her loving heart, her humor, her devotion to family, selflessness, and her deep appreciation for life's simple blessings. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her more.
