Peggy Kowalski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 27, 2025.
Peggy Ann Kowalski (Finney) of Wasilla, AK, passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 4, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, Peggy lived a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to her family.

A wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend - Peggy is survived by her children, Jeff Brown and Amanda Kowalski Rang (husband, Robert Rang Jr.); six beloved grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister, Cindy Ders, and brother, David Finney.

Peggy graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School in Oak Cliff in 1966, where she developed a strong foundation for future endeavors. Her career included administrative support positions at numerous financial and tenchological companies in Dallas.

A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Peggy's love for "America's Team" was unwavering, and she proudly wore her blue and white jersey with pride (How 'bout them Cowboys?!). She was also passionate about politics and enjoyed engaging in lively discussions with family and friends.

One of Peggy's greatest delights was animal care. Her dedication to youth in agriculture was evident through her years of service as a booster club member for FFA, where she spent countless weekends supporting students at stock shows and working in the barn. Her commitment to nurturing young minds and hands-on learning experiences left a lasting impact on the lives of many.

After retiring in 2023, Peggy embarked on a new adventure in Alaska, moving from Dallas to Wasilla to be closer to her family and enjoy her role as "Grammy" to her grandchildren. She quickly found a new community and source of joy at Wasilla Area Seniors Inc., where her group of "Golden Girls" became a vital part of her life. Together, they shared laughter, lunches, dances, trips around town, and beauty parlor visits, bringing her immense happiness and companionship.

Her heart was filled with love for her family, friends, and animals. As a doting grandma, she cherished every moment with her grandchildren. We'll remember Peggy for her unwavering dedication to those she loved, her infectious enthusiasm, and her strong will and unrelenting spirit. She may be gone, but her memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family will be conducting a private service. In lieu of flowers sent to the family, please consider a donation to WASI (www.wasillaseniors.com) in her honor.

Rest in peace, Peggy.

I met Peggy in 1960 when she and I attended school together. We were friends for several years and used to go swimming together at Weiss Park. I lost touch when she went to a different high school, but my future husband worked with her for a while and had a major crush on her. We found each other again on Facebook about 10 years ago and have communicated occasionally since. I had no idea she was dick and am heartbroken to read of her passing. She was beautiful, kind and a true friend who made the world a better place.

Peggy was such a sweet soul and left a mark on the Shorthorn breed during her time donating countless hours, love and support for a breed of cattle her daughter showed. She was always positive, upbeat and could work circles around anyone. She will be missed!

I grew up around the corner from Peggy and went to school with her 1-12 grades. She was always beautiful inside and out. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May the peace of the lord be with her .

I basically grew up with Peggy. As preschoolers we lived just a few houses apart. We went to the same church, and were friends all these years, I can attest that the obituary is factually accurate as it describes her spirit. May she rest in peace.

Peggy was a dear friend since junior high school. She and I had many discussions about our LORD and of course, about politics, too. Peggy was such a sweet and kindhearted person. I know she was happy to be able to be near Amanda and the grandchildren in AK these last two+ years. May God grant each of you comfort and peace during this time of grief. I will be happy to see Peggy again in Glory.
