Peggy S. Leedahl

Peggy Leedahl, age 65 of Glenwood died Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital. A memorial service celebrating Peggy's life will be held on Friday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Peggy Sue Leedahl was born on January 15, 1959, in the small town of Starbuck, MN. Peggy was the cherished fifth child of Vernon and Darlene (Pischke) Bergquist. Her early years on a farm near Lowry were filled with the warmth of a large and loving family. She attended The Plymouth Brethren, Lowry Gospel Hall and the First Baptist Church.
Peggy's education began in the classrooms of Lowry Elementary and culminated in her graduation from Glenwood High School in 1977. Her pursuit of knowledge and a desire to contribute to her community led her to Alexandria Technical College, where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her professional life was marked by unwavering commitment and compassion as she served the residents of Glenwood Retirement Village and patients at the Douglas County Hospital with care and dedication.
Peggy's life was a testament to her dedication to family and her passion for helping others. On October 27, 1984, she united in marriage with Steven Leedahl in Anoka, MN. Together, they built a beautiful life in Glenwood, where they raised three wonderful children: Aaron, Kara, and Michelle. The joy of her life multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Christian and Isaac, and her great-grandson, Aiden, who all inherited her kind spirit and creativity.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Peggy's creative soul shone brightly. She had an extraordinary talent for crafts, from scrapbooking and making homemade greeting cards to crocheting, knitting, and playing the piano. She also cultivated beauty in her gardens and enjoyed canning. Her hands were rarely still, and the beautiful creations she left behind will serve as lasting reminders of her artistic gift.
Those who knew Peggy will forever remember her for her generous heart and her boundless love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She was a woman of many talents, but it was her loving nature and unwavering faith that truly defined her.
Her legacy will be cherished and carried forward by her beloved husband, Steven; her children, Aaron, Michelle (Chee), and Kara; grandchildren, Christian and Isaac; great-grandson, Aiden; and her siblings, Sheri (Andy) Jennings, Kathy (Mark) Jennings, Cindy (Phil) Johnshoy, Gail Bergquist, and Jim (Jodene) Bergquist, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her radiant spirit.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Darlene Bergquist; her sister, Becky Oeltjen; and her brother, Johnny Bergquist.
