Peggy M. Love

Peggy M. Love passed away on December 29, 2025.

Born on October 6, 1935 in Midland, NC, Peggy was the first of eight children in a large and loving family. As a child of the depression, she knew hard times and hard work and developed a work ethic and can-do attitude that sustained her throughout her life.

She was always upbeat and always ready to enjoy. She loved to go and do and never met a stranger. She visited China and Germany, rode in a hot air balloon, sky dived, and zip lined.

Fiercely independent, she still enjoyed maintaining her yard at 90 years old. She never wanted help when she could do it herself but never hesitated when someone else needed help.

She was a long term member of NAWIC (National Association of Women In Construction) and once served as chapter president. She very much enjoyed the travel and theme parties associated with their meetings.

She was involved with her church, regularly attending Sunday services. She enjoyed taking care of the children and worked with several of the outreach ministries.

She loved country music and was able to visit Nashville a few times. She enjoyed baking and was known for her cookies and German Chocolate cake. She had an uncanny ability to spot a four-leaf clover.

In her last year, she was beset with some memory issues but never lost her way. Whatever she encountered, she met it with, "Doing the best I can with what I got, one day at a time, with the Good Lord's help."

All that knew her are blessed. Her joyousness is a grand example for all.

Peggy's Celebration of Life service will be held on January 5 at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC at 1:00.
