Peggy Lou McComas, aged 66, passed away on December 6, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Baltimore, MD, Peggy later settled in Ridgeley, WV, where she embraced her retirement surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Peggy dedicated 15 years to the Anne Arundel County Police Department as a 911 Dispatcher, where she retired in 2020. Throughout her career, she earned numerous awards and recognitions, trained countless new hires, and provided unwavering support to individuals during challenging times. After her retirement, Peggy worked part-time at Rocky Gap Casino Resort in the call center.
Peggy was truly one of a kind. Her positive outlook on life was contagious, and she embodied kindness, generosity, compassion, and patience. A devoted mother, sister, Mimi, aunt, and friend, she touched the lives of everyone she met and will be profoundly missed.
Peggy is survived by her children, Raven Swain and husband Steven, and Riley McComas; her cherished grandchildren, Skyler Hutzel, Gage Swain, and Levi Hutzel; her brother, Robert Agel and wife Roxanne; her sister, Barbara Demay and husband Ivan; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Nellie Agel; her sister, Susan Hines; and her brother, Vernon Agel Jr., along with his wife, Joan.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of the Cancer Institute at both Potomac Valley Hospital and Ruby Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Peggy’s journey.
A public viewing will be held on Peggy's birthday, Wednesday, December 11th, at Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne (2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd.) from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM.
Peggy’s legacy of love and positivity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
